Sharing the Blame: Is it my SEO applications or is it Search Engines?
I confess. Prior to hearing about SEO products and site optimization industry, I thought Google was the best thing ever. I Used Google to look for everything from celebrities, to visuals, to news to odd things and blindly trusted the findings. Then I found out about SEO applications and an entire business centered on website marketing, and my attitudes changed. But even prior to my discovery, after doing a bit of philosophical musings, I got an inkling that search engines, Google to boot, know far from everything, and divulge to the web community even less than that.
My search escapades soon persuaded me that Flikr is a higher quality image search source, that with the help of Digg I can get quality news stories without the need to rummage through Google search results (rummaging is more appropriate than Google search), and people search is best administered by Facebook. It seems like whenever I search for weird things on Google, the results are often inaccurate, to put it kindly. Try searching for SEO tools and other SEO related themes on Google and you are almost ready to lose your sanity. I mean, come on, what’s the connection between SEO applications and online education sites or online casinos? Gladly, in my frustrations.
So when news of seo software review and the whole field revolving around it came into my humble worldview, my suspicions about websites popping up on P1 of Google grew virally. Do they merit to show up on there and whose fault is it, Google or webmasters using SEO tools. The moral quandary is immense. Do I seize using my SEO rank checker or do I stop using Google instead? I decided that I can’t turn away from Google just yet. At least not till the decent contender enters the market. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will keep using my SEO programs.
To be honest, SEO software is the reason why folks like myself get some visibility on the web. smart as they are, search engine Web spiders are unlikely to find some random dude and position his site highly. In this regard, I remain a firm advocate of SEO applications and organic search. If it was all about the cash, the multinational entities would demolish me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of corporations on the Fortune roll! But here is another thing that annoys me and other backlinks checker users, I am sure. There are people who invest in SEO tools and use them to sell shoeson employment sites and the like. What we are left with is rubbish that not only takes over the web but is also highly valued by search engines.
What is the public reaction to this? They search for SEO program reviews and will instead find junk content. They get disappointed. So much for the “Internet fairness”. Does this imply that SEO software and service field is bad? Not necessarily.
The abusers of SEO apps need to stop polluting the Internet but it’s like asking hackers to stop cracking the code. The unfortunate thing about it is that black hat SEOs are overusing the prospect to be seen on the Internet that is available to the no-name guy like myself. For now users just have to live with them. We can only hope that Google will put more emphasis on catching the schemers abusing SEO products, and if Google doesn’t, the big search engine will.
